"Our emphasis is on training
people on how to make "simple, high-enzyme, high-nourishment
foods" and to give them an understanding of the benefits of
these foods, and of the other aspects of the program, so
they can carry as much as possible into their daily lives in
a fairly convenient way."
The wellness center is
a small but cozy, bright
3-bedroom, 2-bath house on 80 acres of land with trees,
broad lawns and fields. It has beds for up to five guests
and five staff members at a time, and also has plenty of
room for RV’s and tent camping.
The whole property is bordered
by tree-lined dirt roads with fields that are loaded with
nutritious wild edibles like dandelion, alfalfa, red clover,
and nettle. It also has patches of comfrey and you can start
picking the plantain as soon as you walk out the front door.
They even have an organic garden. They grow wheatgrass,
buckwheat and sunflower greens, various sprouts, and serve
the various fermented foods of "Dr. Ann’s" Living Lifestyle
program. You can see the stars at night, enjoy wonderful
cloud filled sunsets at dusk, and take long safe walks in
the fresh air. Yet major shopping is only 30 minutes away
and further up into East Lansing, home of Michigan State
University, are three health food stores with more organic
produce."
