South of the Border Salad
Mexican "Meat"
1 cup pre-soaked walnuts
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon organic taco seasoning
1 tablespoon Savory Magic
(optional)
Mango Salsa
1
medium-large mango, diced
3-4 medium-sized tomatoes, diced
¼ sweet onion, diced
½ lime,
squeezed
¼ cup fresh cilantro,
chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
Salad
6 cups washed and spun dry spring salad mix
2½ cups
fresh corn
1 cup sunflower sprouts (8-12
hours)
1
avocado, chopped
½
cucumber, chopped
½ cup
zucchini, chopped
4 green onions,
chopped
In a juicer with a blank screen, process the
walnuts, and mix in the olive oil, taco seasoning, and Savory Magic.
Then dehydrate for 2-3 hours at 105 degrees.
Mix together all ingredients of the salsa and
set aside.
Place all salad ingredients in a salad bowl and
mix in the dehydrated walnuts and enough salsa for taste.
Serves 6
*Salsa is also
delicious served with the
Mexican Flax Crackers or the crackers can be
added to the salad.

We all get older, something the "baby boomer" generation is having a hard time
facing. Usually in your early 40's, arthritis starts to appear after the many
years of playing hard and abusing of your body. This wear and tear from all
the years starts to slow you down and makes moving and bending your joints a
bit more difficult.

Calories and Carbs and

Regardless of how much weight you might want to
lose, you'll no doubt run into the same confusing issues everyone else does.
Should you cut down your calories? Should you reduce or eliminate your
carbohydrate intake? Or should you just cut out fat? I know I get so confused
by all the different information available out there, I sometimes wonder if it
would be easiest to just stop eating.
Well, obviously, not eating can and will kill you, if you keep the fast going
long enough. Some forms of juice fasts and even water fasting can be
beneficial, but chronic fasting will impact your health. Particularly if you
do any of this for long periods of time.
The problem isn't really that there exist so many opinions, facts, and
theories on weight loss, the problem is that many of these approaches work.
Going on a juice fast will make you lose weight. But staying on a juice fast
for too long could create further problems down the road...

Natural Treatments for
Anxiety: How You Can Find Natural Anxiety Relief

If you find yourself worrying uncontrollably
about everyday tasks or if you are constantly and excessively anxious about
issues like family health, finances or your job, you may be suffering from
Generalized Anxiety Disorder. While everybody experiences anxiety
occasionally, people who suffer from G.A.D. experience it so excessively that
it can interfere with their ability to perform ordinary tasks. In order for
the condition to be diagnosed, you must have suffered from these symptoms for
at least six consecutive months. And if you are in fact suffering from G.A.D.,
you may find physical relief in certain natural remedies.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder should be treated by a mental health
professional, and treatment is usually multifaceted and tailored toward each
individual, especially since the condition is often accompanied by depression
or substance abuse. Most professionals recommend behavioral or cognitive
therapy, or a combination of both of them, along with relaxation techniques,
as an essential part of treatment. Some also recommend prescription anxiety
medications, which can be effective in alleviating many symptoms. But
increasingly, doctors and patients are finding that natural treatments for
anxiety can provide much of the same relief as prescription medication, but
without the potentially alarming side effects.
When combined with relaxation exercises, kava kava (or piper methysticum) is
an excellent anxiety remedy that can also be used to promote sleep (insomnia
is a common symptom of G.A.D.) if taken in a higher dosage. It should not be
used as a sleep aid for longer than four months...

items marked “organic”. There is a lot of confusion at exactly what determines
an item is organic food. As consumers become more and more health conscious,
organic food has increased in popularity exponentially. The future will see
more and more products being marketed as organic food.
How does the USDA determine what constitutes organic food?
There is actually a very complex method to determine if a farmer or co-op can
market their foods as organic. A division of the United States Department of
Agriculture analyzes the composition of the land, record keeping, and a
documentation of any herbal or chemical pesticides used on the plant,
vegetable, fruit or animal. After passing the certification to label the farm
as “organic” the farmer can then be free to use the USDA Organic seal on its
