My favorite workshop at the Seattle-based,
annual Women of Wisdom conference this year was entitled;
Awaken the Sekhmet Within: Solar Feminine Power, taught by
Danielle Hoffman. This workshop was about more than just what
the title implies. It was about letting go of your fears,
setting clear intentions, and going to the root cause of those
fears to bring yourself back to a place of strength. The
workshop was fun and interactive, and kept people on their
toes. There was no dozing in this three hour class. We were
crawling around on the ground like giant cats, and pouncing on
our fears. We were popping balloons and shouting out a habit,
doubt, or fear, that we wanted to release into the universe
forever. Danielle was animated and convincing. She was also
very knowledgeable about what she was teaching, through
experience and research. I would encourage everyone to check

inspiring, but it's fun too! After taking the workshop with
Danielle, I asked her if she would be willing to do an interview
to share a little more about what she does with our readers.
She agreed and this is what she had to say............
Could you describe briefly how you were first called to study the
Egyptian Pantheon, later leading to studying alchemical healing?
This work
actually found me. In retrospect I see that my path to the
Egyptian Pantheon began when I went to horseback riding camp at
the age of 9. This horse camp later became a Wellness center
where I became certified in Reiki and took my first Egyptian
Mysteries class on Sekhmet. I had no idea what the course was
about. I just knew I was supposed to be there. This course taught
by Nicki Scully completely changed my life-it was the first time I
had the clarity and courage to commit to my path as a healer and
teacher. It was my first conscious experience with the Egyptian
Pantheon and I felt at home and was left wanting more.
Later on that
year I went on a guided meditation to assist you in finding your
soul's path. The message I got during the meditation was sell my
house, close down my massage school business, leave my
relationship, move, study with Nicki Scully and write a book. As
you can imagine this was quite a lot of change to take in and
within a few years, all of them happened except the book. I met my
husband and moved to
Seattle
and attended an Alchemical Healing course with Nicki at the
Women of Wisdom
Conference. I loved it and it was so powerful. I began studying
with Nicki in Eugene and after going through most of her courses I
knew I was supposed to get certified to teach Alchemical Healing
and become a member of Thoth's lineage.
What is Alchemical Healing and how has this work helped to improve your
life?
Alchemical
Healing brings together innovative techniques from shamanism and
energetic healing and combines them with the principles of
alchemy, creating a practical form of physical healing,
therapeutic counseling and spiritual growth. This powerful
healing form is based on the work of Nicki Scully and accesses
Universal Life Force energy and the five Elements; with guidance
from the Egyptian Pantheon and Spirit Allies from the animal,
plant and mineral kingdoms. In more simple terms, it takes
whatever might not be working in your life like for example, pain,
fear, fatigue and transforms it into something that does work,
such as, health, joy and energy.
The work has
drastically improved my life in many ways. Professionally it
awakened my skills to be able to see, feel, hear and know
energy. It gave me a tool to help my clients with their problems
at the root level. It gave me an avenue to build deep
relationships with my spirit guides and receive their support and
guidance. Personally I found the longer I practiced Alchemical
Healing and incorporated the principles in my life, the parts of
me that weren't my true essence began to fall away. I felt much
like Michael Angelo describes his masterpiece David -he simply
chipped away everything that wasn't David. This was my experience
as well. I also see this with other people who practice
Alchemical Healing - they have a powerful healing tool for others
and a path of transformation that leads them to being more fully
themselves.
How might this kind of work serve others?
This work can
serve others with any kind of problem they may be having
physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually. Here are some

Will you speak a little about your love of
Egypt and the tours you offer?
When I am in
Egypt, I experience Heaven on Earth. I feel completely at home and
connected to the divine and myself. Egypt holds such power, magic
and inspiration in every grain of sand, temple and sacred
artifact. From cruising down the
Nile, to being in the Great Pyramid to spending time with the Egyptian
people. Each moment is precious and filled with mystery and
magic. I love to share this with others and watch their
transformation, remembering and awakenings.
In
collaboration with Shamanic Journeys (leading tours since 1987),
my husband Dr. Friedemann Schaub of Cellular Wisdom (www.cellularwisdom.com)
and I are leading a tour to Egypt this November 4-19. We will
visit the sacred sites, work with the energies of the Egyptian
Pantheon and clear what isn't serving us. One of the unique
experiences of the tour that we offer is that we will do laser

Since the workshop you taught at the WOW conference focused on Sekhmet,
could you share what her characteristics are and how she can
assist people in this day and age?
Sekhmet is
known as the Goddess of war and destruction, of courage and
compassion, and as healer. She wears the solar disk with a cobra
on it and her father is Ra the sun God. She is fire, passion and
action of the sun. She is huntress of the original thought form
behind any imbalance. Her very description is a dichotomy; how
can the Goddess of war also be the compassionate healer? The fact
that she embodies these seemingly conflicting qualities and
integrates them into strength and compassion is a perfect role
model for us at this time. We must choose how we direct our
energy. Do we sit in neutrality, compassion and unconditional love
or do we rage in fear and anger? The energy of fire or the sun
warms our homes and feeds us through nourishing our gardens or it
burns down our homes and dehydrates our bodies. It simply depends
on its direction and its intention. Anger can infuse us with the
personal power to move forward and master our dreams or it can
tear us apart inside, creating a constant battle within,
destroying our health and our relationships.
The qualities
of Sekhmet are very helpful to assist us in focusing our attention
on what we want to increase in our lives. She is a fierce
protector and a passionate healer. She supports us in standing in
our personal power, our true essence or Sat Nam. (Gurmookh for the
truth is your name or true essence). She helps us take our
negative habits, beliefs, and fearful patterns and use them for
fuel for the fire of our heartıs desire. She helps bring the spark
back into life, while helping us feel safe to expand to inhabit
our full space in the world.
Of what I'm sure is an archive of memorable experiences, could you draw
upon and share one powerful encounter you have had with Sekhmet?
Ever since my
first connection with Sekhmet, she has been a staunch ally and
friend. She has given me the courage to follow my dreams and to
be myself. She has also encouraged those around me to do the
same. This led to one very special moment with Sekhmet at her
chapel in
Karnak at
Luxor. My
beloved partner and I went into her chapel together and it was
there that he asked me to marry him. Sekhmet helped him access
the courage inside him to act on what was in his heart and she
gave me the courage to say yes and it was the perfect engagement.

After 12 years
in the healing arts I have a developed a powerful healing program

Alchemical
Healing Immersion- April 28-May 1st.
This four-day
intensive includes the first two levels of Alchemical Healing and
is the only AH course I am offering in 2005. The immersion
includes initiations that awaken your ability to work with
unlimited life force energy, the Elements of Earth, Air, Water,
Fire and Akasha for healing. As well as develop relationships
with healing allies, including the Egyptian Pantheon, power animal
and allies from the crystal and plant kingdoms. You will learn
how to relieve pain on the physical, mental, spiritual and
